In October Shepparton Christian school Year 11 Biology class used their schools 'reach' of the river, the Boulevard Bush Reserve, to complete a component of their VCE requirements.

The students were required to conduct and report on a field investigation related to the interactions between living things and their environment, and explain how ecosystems change over time.

RiverConnect and Goulburn Murray Landcare group worked with the students to do scientific surveys at the Bush reserve. This included surveying native plants and invertebrates using quadrats along a transect and doing a 10m2 Biodiversity Audit.

The work was completed over a two week period. The students did a great job getting into the survey work, taking down lots of notes and asking good questions.
